| Title: | Armando Allen to ND |
| Story: | Thursday night, it was reported that Charlie Weis visited Armando Allen and told Armando he could enroll early with Notre Dame. Armando really wanted to enroll early at his school of chose and since Notre Dame wasn't allowing him to enroll early it looked like he was a lock with Florida. Armando actually had a press conference today set up with his cousin Demarcus VanDyke to announce his decision to go to Florida. Late last night he set up his own press conference and it seemed everything was changing towards a commitment to Notre Dame. Charlie Weis did his last little push to bring Armando Allen to Notre Dame and it is official as of 10:08 EST, Armando Allen is the latest and greatest commitment to Notre Dame!
Notre Dame has picked up a hugh prospect in Armando Allen who has 4.31 break away speed and has given Notre Dame the blazing speed needed on offense. After watching his video, he looks like he can run up the gut and burn the outsides of the line. Allen looks like he has good hands coming out of the backfield and possible be a returner for the irish just like West and Grimes were this year. I can see Armando floating out to the slot with an empty backfield and being a Bush type prospect. The big question is will his ankle/leg injury and be alright the next 4 years at ND. Armando Allen gives needed speed on offense and is a big addition at RB which was needed in this recruiting class. Even if Armando Allen doesn't play next year he will be a much need recruit for 2008, when we lose Darius walker. I think Charlie is looking possible into a multiple back backfield. Prince, Alridge, Walker, Schwapp, and now Allen, Charlie has turned our backfield into the 5 horseman. If Charlie can get a commitment out of Robert Hughes, I can see Notre Dame going back to a run and gun type offense. Wow, this commitment just creeped up on me! Congratulations to Armando Allen and Notre Dame! Armando, welcome to Notre Dame! Notre Dame really needs a back like you! |
